Founded in Paris in 2018, the Association for Responsible Research and Innovation in Genome Editing (ARRIGE) promotes global governance of genome editing. It brings together academics, industry, patient organisations, citizens and decision-makers to support the safe and socially acceptable development of these technologies.
ARRIGE’s 2026 Annual Conference, “Who Gets to Edit the Future?”, will explore the governance of heritable genome editing in a multipolar world. This hybrid conference takes place on 23–24 November 2026 at Next Biosciences in Midrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.
